Although it may sound surprising that in 2012 only the fourth annual edition of the EBF Conference will take place, the EBF Conference has known a rich history. In 2009, the fusion and renewal of two established conferences, the Bedrijfskundig Congres (Business Conference) and the Economisch Congres (Economic Conference), took place in the form of the EBF Conference. From this moment on, the EBF has organized several successful conferences, tackling various current economic and business themes by providing more in-depth knowledge. The EBF Conference has developed itself into the largest two-day student conference in the Netherlands.

Academic Day

Traditionally, the conference is divided in an Academic Day and a Conference Day.  It starts with the Academic Day, which takes place at the faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen. This interactive day consists of a number of parallel sessions provided by professors, scientists and field experts, primarily visited by master students, alumni and business participants.

Conference Day

The second day of the conference, the Conference Day, has the tradition of being hosted at the Martiniplaza Conference Center in Groningen. Throughout the day, key-note speakers deliver lectures on topics connected to the annual theme and students will be given the opportunity to participate in workshops and masterclasses. The day will be concluded with a classic dinner in the Martinikerk, historic symbol of the city of Groningen.
