EBF International Symposium

The International Symposium is a one-day free of charge activity that is being organised by the EBF every year. The participants of this event are mainly Dutch students who follow an internationally oriented study but international students will attend as well. In line with this, the International Symposium will be held entirely in English.

The purpose of this event is to get students in touch with the business world, influential people and companies early on in their study by means of a relevant and interesting theme. This way students can orientate themselves towards their future career opportunities and choices.

This year International Symposium will take place on 6th of May. The day will start with lectures from renowned speakers that will shed light on the practical application of theories students get familiar with during their  study. In the second part of the day,  the students will attend a number of workshops where they will interact with companies and work on cases. The expected number of students is around 250.

Theme of International Symposium 2013

This year the theme will cover the employability in the world. The possible subjects addressed during the International Symposium are: How to deal with colleagues and other employees/employers with a different cultural background, Ethics in International Business, and how students can prepare themselves for a job in the field of international business.

During the workshops and lectures we ask ourselves the question: World Wide Employment. A future of possibilities? We hope that all participants will have their own idea when the event comes to the end.

Note: the registration is closed. We are expecting the registered participants at Aletta Jacobs Hall, 10:30 on the 6th of May. The dress code is Business Formal, no exceptions.

The Committee

We, the International Symposium Committee, are a multicultural group consisting of students from Germany, the Netherlands and Lithuania. This year we are organizing the 6th International Symposium, which is held on 6th of May.
