European Study Research
Description
Twice a year ESR committees organize a research trip in May or December to a city in a European country. The goal of thistrip is to let second and third year students experience doing research, which they will perform at several companies in the week abroad. 25 participants will be selected for this, who will perform their research according to a larger theme also in the weeks before and after the trip. The committee will organize the preceding lectures, the accompanying socials, two dinners and the trip itself.
Last year the trips visited among others Istanbul, Prague, Budapest and Lisbon.

Functions
An overview of the functions and specific responsibilities for each committee member is presented below:
Chairman
- Has a supporting and facilitating role,
- Is responsible for general coordination,
- Is responsible for teambuilding/bonding.
Research Coordinator
- Is responsible for planning lectures,
- Is responsible for finding lecturers,
- Is responsible for the research start-up.
Travel Coordinator/Treasurer
- Is responsible for the budget,
- Is responsible for the day planning and programme,
- Is responsible for cost collections,
- Is responsible for subsidies applications.
Public Relations
- Is responsible for promotion,
- Is responsible for the selection of participants,
- Is responsible for the lay-out of the syllabus and other lay out.
Commercial Relations Internal/External
- Is responsible for the day programme,
- Is responsible for acquiring sponsors from companies in the Netherlands,
- Is responsible for maintaining contact with these companies.

Workload
The committee runs from October till June and is fairly intensive. As the trip approaches the workload will increase. In the beginning it will take approximately between 5 and 10 hours a week. Before the trip it will take you around 20 hours a week.

The trip takes place at the end of May.
