EBF International Symposium

Description

The international symposium committee organizes an English spoken symposium for (international) students IE&B and IB&M. In this committee you will choose an international orientated subject and you will organize an interesting day filling programme including (international) speakers, workshops, a lunch and a social. For this committee we are looking for international as well as Dutch students with a reasonable knowledge of English.
Last year’s theme in 2011 was "What´s next for Europe?"
 

Functions

An overview of the functions and specific responsibilities for each committee member is presented below:
Chairman
- Is responsible for contact with the faculty,
- Has a supporting and facilitating role,
- Is responsible for general coordination,
- Is responsible for teambuilding/bonding.

Treasurer/Commercial Relations II
- Is responsible for the budget,
- Is responsible for acquiring subsidies,
- Is responsible for acquiring sponsors.

Public Relations/Secretary
- Is responsible for the registrations,
- Is responsible for the promotion of the event.

Commercial Relations I
- Is responsible for acquiring sponsors.
- Is responsible for maintaining contact with the companies.

Day organisation/Logistics
- Is responsible for managing the day itself,
- Is responsible for the image of the event,
- Is responsible for facilitating the speakers and the companies on the day

Workload

The workload for the International Symposium is around 8 hours a week. In the weeks before the event it will take some more time, around 15-20 hours a week.

The International Symposium will take place in June.
