Honours Forum

The goal of the Honours Forum is to give students the opportunity to get acquainted with research conducted both at the university and within businesses or government agencies. Experienced researchers and professors will give presentations on their fields of expertise. The Honours Forums are primarily aimed at Honours Bachelor students, yet the event is accessible to all that are interested, including the faculty’s academic staff.

The Honours Bachelor programme aims at offering motivated and talented students opportunities to get involved with scientific research and to offer them possibilities to adapt their course programs towards their specific fields of interest. Generally, students get enrolled into the track during the first semester of their second year and leave the track upon graduation. In special cases, exceptions can be made to this rule.

Upon admission, students are assigned to fellows (experienced researchers) of the Research School SOM. Sometimes, students are supervised in pairs. In collaboration with their supervisors, students design a study program that contains at least a research program of 10 ECTS. Furthermore, participating students are allowed to select courses that teach useful research methods.

They will also play an active role in the research projects on which their supervisors are working. This offers students opportunities to get insights into many aspects of doing research and how exciting scientific activities can be.
